Distance does not cancel mutual responsibility.

Paul describes a body in which difference is necessary and belonging creates responsibility. No gift can declare itself unnecessary, and no visible role can dismiss members whose work is quieter or less celebrated.

Online community becomes church-like only when attention turns into practice: people are known, needs are noticed, gifts are exercised, commitments are kept, and care continues beyond a broadcast.

“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” 1 Corinthians 12:27

Three practices for the week

  1. Learn one person’s real week. Move beyond general greetings and listen for a concrete joy, burden, responsibility, or need.
  2. Offer the gift you already have. Use encouragement, administration, hospitality, teaching, generosity, or practical help without waiting for a platform.
  3. Honor the less visible work. Notice and thank the people whose steady service makes worship, care, and connection possible.
