THE SEVENTH DAY

A gift to receive.
A rhythm to practice.

From creation onward, the Sabbath forms a weekly sanctuary in time—a day for worship, rest, mercy, delight, and trust.

“The seventh day is a sabbath to Yehovah your God.” Exodus 20:10

We normally mark the Sabbath from Friday evening to Saturday evening. This page is a starting guide, not a scorecard; households should begin prayerfully, attend to genuine needs, and refuse both legalism and contempt.

A SIMPLE STARTING RHYTHM

Prepare with peace.

You do not need a perfect household or elaborate tradition to begin.

01

Prepare

Complete essential work, choose simple food, reduce digital noise, and name what can wait.

02

Welcome

Mark Friday evening with prayer, Scripture, gratitude, a meal, or another meaningful household rhythm.

03

Gather

Worship with the congregation Saturday at 11:00 AM ET and make room for learning and prayer.

04

Delight

Receive rest without anxiety. Enjoy creation, hospitality, mercy, conversation, and unhurried presence.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Begin faithfully where you are.

Ask another question
What if my job requires Saturday work?

Bring the real constraint before Yehovah without shame. Seek wise, lawful adjustments where possible, receive pastoral help, and resist judging people whose work, care duties, or safety needs differ.

Is the Sabbath only about avoiding work?

No. Ceasing from ordinary labor creates room for worship, rest, mercy, fellowship, creation, and delight. The day is received as a gift, not reduced to a restriction list.

Can I join if I am still learning?

Absolutely. Our gathering is open to respectful guests and people at every stage of exploration. You will never be pressured to pretend certainty.

How should families practice?

Choose age-appropriate, life-giving rhythms. Keep the day hospitable, simple, and centered on Yehovah rather than making children anxious about accidental rule-breaking.
